The commission increased the total budget of the new EIC Accelerator program -SME instrument to €100M (in comparecent to the former one €70M)
The new program will focus in particular on the Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness pillar of Horizon Europe
Funding under the new EIC Accelerator scheme
Grant between 500,000€ to 2.5€ million
70% from the awarded budget + 25% overhead (~87.5%)
Funding duration between 12-24 months
The program's goal is to market the innovative product- scale-up a prototype and advance in close-to-market R&D towards market uptake
New blended finance: grant up to 2.5M Euros, equity up to 15M Euros
2 steps evaluation process:
Remotely by 4 independent evaluators followed by a face-to-face interview conducted in Brussels (if score is above the cut-off)
